Whilst I mainly breed for showing, I do occasionally have chinchillas for sale.
These fall into three general categories:
1) Young "teenage" animals typically ideal for pets. I do not sell kits, as I wish to ensure they are well weaned (and socialized if in same sex pairs). So these chins will usually be four and a half to twelve months old. Pedigrees are available.
2) Breeding animals - singles, pairs and trios. Typically 10 to 18 months of age. Pedigrees are available.
3) Retired animals, usually female, looking for a loving home.
My animals come with some food and some timothy grass for you to mix in with your food / grass - mixing old and new food smooths the transition to their new home. I can also supply some simple chew toys and sticks of the type they are used to.
At any time I will not have all the animals below available, but I thought it best to list all possibilities. Contact me to find out what I have today.
Chinchilla breeders refer to non-Standard furs as "mutations" - don't worry these are are just different colours (or fur lengths), not something from Science Fiction!
The standard chinchilla is a refined version of the natural "agouti" colour of wild chinchillas in the Andes - grey on top with a white tummy.

Ideally black on top with a white tummy. The jet black fur develops as the animal ages and typically doesn't reach its maximum potential until c. 18 months of age. Often the black does not reach all the way to the white tummy , and the fur in between is more of a "Standard" grey colour. Look out for the black roman nose and cute little black "spats" on the feet.
